How to install Subclipse in Flex Builder 3

All projects in the PureMVC Manifold are stored in a code repository system called Subversion (SVN).

The Flex Builder IDE needs the Subclipse plugin in order to allow the developer to check the code out of or into the repository. This plugin, in turn requires the Eclipse Development Environment plugin, and the Java Development Tools plugin. These plugins can all be installed from within Flex Builder environment, and do not have to be downloaded separately. These instructions should get you up and running:

• Download and install  Adobe Flex Builder 3.

Installing Subclipse from within Flex Builder 3

• Open Flex Builder
• Select the Help menu
• Software Updates
• Find and Install
• Search for New Features to Install
• Choose Europa Discovery Site and click Finish
• Choose a Mirror
• Expand Europa Discovery Site
• Expand Java Development
• Select the following:
• * Eclipse plug-in development Environment (PDE)
• * Java Development Tools (JDT)
• Click Next
• Accept the terms and Click next
• Click Finish
• Restart Flex Builder 3 when asked
• Select the Help menu
• Software Updates
• Find and Install
• Search for New Features to Install
• Choose "New Remote Site" and use the following:
• * Name: Subclipse
• * URL:  http://subclipse.tigris.org/update_1.2.x
• Expand Subclipse Update Site
• Expand Subclipse Plugin
• Choose Subclipse 1.2.x (available version might be different when you read this)
• Accept the terms and restart Flex Builder 3 when asked
